TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say five people died in separate auto crashes in the state.

Police say Matthew Harris of Ashdown died Friday when he was thrown from the car he was driving after it went off Highway 71 near Texarkana.

On Thursday, Preston Lamay of Lewisville died when the car he was driving went off Highway 27 in Sevier County and struck a tree. On Highway 27 in Pike County, Jose’ Lopez of Glenwood died when the vehicle he was driving also crashed into a tree.

Margaret Isaac of Mena died when the car she was riding in crashed into a ditch along Highway 71 in Scott County.

And Billie Jo Horne of Horseshoe Bend died when the car she was driving collided head-on with a vehicle on Highway 167 near Cave City.
