FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Former Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson will be one of the keynote speakers at the North Dakota GOP convention next week in Fargo.

North Dakota Republican Party Chairman Kelly Armstrong tells the Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1UOfpS1 ) that the retired neurosurgeon is a “good man who’s really helped (with) the national debate.”

The state GOP convention is scheduled for April 1-3 at the Scheels Arena in Fargo. Carson will address convention attendees April 3.

Carson, a political newcomer, never won any of the early primary contests, and he suspended his campaign at the beginning of this month.
