MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - It’s shaping up to be a busy Easter Weekend on the South Carolina Grand Strand.

Researchers from Coastal Carolina University report that based on their sample of rental properties in Georgetown and Horry counties, occupancy this weekend could be close to 95 percent.

The report says that for coming week, when many students are off on spring break, occupancy at the locations it surveyed should be running about 78 percent. That’s up about 9 percent compared to the same week a year ago.

Myrtle Beach is the center of the state’s $19 billion tourism industry.
