WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A coroner says two men have been found dead in a murder-suicide at a northeastern Pennsylvania home that was surrounded by state troopers.

Troopers from the Hazleton barracks responded to the residence in Dorrance Township about 6:10 p.m. Wednesday after someone called to report an unresponsive person at that address.

Emergency responders heard a gunshot from inside the home as they arrived, prompting the state police to summon a Special Emergency Response Team, which is similar to a SWAT unit.

When police finally entered the home hours later, they found the bodies inside. On Thursday, the Luzerne County coroner confirmed one man had killed the other before killing himself, but their names were not immediately released.

The coroner could not immediately be reached for comment Friday.
