DOVER, Del. (AP) - Gov. Jack Markell is traveling to Virginia to talk about his time in office in Delaware.

Markell has been invited to speak Friday afternoon at the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society Distinguished Speaker Series at the University of Virginia.

Markell’s speech will focus on his two terms as Delaware’s governor.

The University of Virginia society, named for Thomas Jefferson, is the second-oldest Greek organization in the country, behind Phi Beta Kappa.

Its members have included Edgar Allan Poe, former Virginia Gov. James Gilmore and President Woodrow Wilson.

Honorary membership has been bestowed upon the likes of James Madison, James Monroe, the Marquis de Lafayette and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
