FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - George Mason University officials are investigating two separate sexual assault reports that may have occurred on or near the Fairfax campus.

Local news outlets report that officials issued an alert to the campus community about both incidents.

One female student reported she was raped on March 17 by a male student she knows. The school says the incident occurred either in a student residence hall or in an off-campus apartment. The university says the woman may have ingested an unidentified drug.

Another female student reported that she had been raped at a campus residence hall on Monday by a man she met through a dating app. The school says the suspect is unaffiliated with the university.

Police are investigating both incidents and are urging anyone with information to contact authorities.
