TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) - Prosecutors say a man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Taunton.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office says 20-year-old Miguel Marrero, of Taunton, was arrested Friday in Roxbury by the Massachusetts State Police.

Marrero is charged with murder and carrying an illegal firearm.

The shooting took place Thursday outside of a home in Taunton.

The victim, 23-year-old Gordon Weekes, was taken by a friend to Morton Hospital, where he later died.

Marrero will be arraigned Monday in Taunton District Court.

It’s unclear if he’s represented by an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

The investigation is ongoing.
