VENTURA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man wanted in a child molestation case has shot himself to death at his California martial arts studio.

Police tell the Ventura County Star (https://bit.ly/1RpSvgc ) that officers went to the United Studios of Self Defense in Ventura on Wednesday to arrest 38-year-old Sean Curtis.

Cmdr. Sam Arroyo says officers were entering the dojo when Curtis pulled a gun and they backed out.

A few moments later, the officers heard a gunshot.

After about 90 minutes police entered and found Curtis dead. He was the only person in the building.

The county medical examiner’s office concluded Thursday that he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police Cmdr. Tom Higgins says police were investigating allegations that Curtis molested two 10-year-old girls who were students at the dojo.
