PHILADELPHIA (AP) - City officials say a malfunction with Philadelphia’s parking kiosks kept motorists from using their credit cards for about four hours.

Philly.com reports (https://bit.ly/1q5sppU ) the problem was reported around 3:30 p.m. Thursday and was resolved at about 7:30 p.m.

Philadelphia Parking Authority officials say the kiosks had been having problems wirelessly transmitting credit card payments but cash and payments through a mobile app still worked.

Officials say motorists were given a 15-minute grace period to get cash and pay the kiosk before they received a ticket during the outage.
