HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man and woman were found dead apparently from carbon monoxide poisoning in a running SUV in New Jersey.

Hackensack Police Capt. Patrick Coffey said that the 29-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were found in the car in Hackensack Friday morning.

Coffey says there was no signs of a struggle or violence and that police are “leaning toward” a tragic case of carbon monoxide poisoning. He says the investigation will continue to look into any other possibility.

The names of the victims weren’t released pending notification of their families.

Coffey says the man is from Hackensack and the woman is believed to be from New York City.

Police were investigating around a Chevrolet Tracker with New York license plates and a pink handbag on the hood.
