JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly gas station shooting in Jackson.

Multiple media outlets report the incident happened Thursday night.

Jackson Police Department Commander Tyree Jones says the unidentified woman was shot multiple times at a gas pump by a suspect who had gotten out of a black Dodge Avenger.

Police say the victim was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green says the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident.

WJTV-TV reports that Kendrick Bell was arrested and faces several charges including one count of murder in connection with the shooting.

It isn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.

The investigation is ongoing.
