MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) - Melbourne Victory midfielder Oliver Bozanic scored in the third minute and again in the second half for the defending champions to beat the first-place Western Sydney Wanderers 2-0 in the A-League on Friday.

The Victory moved six points ahead of Sydney FC for the sixth and last playoff spot with three rounds to play.

It also prevented the Wanderers from increasing their one-point lead over Melbourne City and Brisbane.

Brisbane has a chance to move into first place on Saturday when it hosts Sydney FC, while Melbourne City plays Wellington on Monday.

Fourth-place Adelaide, a point behind City and Brisbane and two points out of first place, plays Central Coast in the only match on Sunday.
