FAIRBURN, Ga. (AP) - A motorist has died in Fairburn after his vehicle struck a street sweeper and burst into flames.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://on-ajc.com/1pDb1Z5) that the wreck occurred Saturday morning in South Fairburn. Fairburn police said in a news release that the driver of the street sweeper was not injured.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the motorist lost control and entered the opposite lane of travel, which was occupied by the street sweeper. After the collision, the vehicle burst into flames and the driver was trapped.

The identity of the motorist hasn’t been released. The Georgia State Patrol has taken over investigation of the wreck.
