PHOENIX (AP) - The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has declined to file criminal charges against three Phoenix police officers.

The officers were accused of using excessive force in confrontations that were caught on camera.

Police investigators had recommended felony counts against officers Logan Egnor and Christopher Tiona for a May 2015 incident involving pepper spray.

They also recommended a misdemeanor assault charge against Officer Nelu Podea for a separate incident at Metrocenter Mall last September.

Police officials told KTVK-TV that all three officers remain on paid administrative leave and may still face disciplinary action from the department.

They also say the internal investigations still are open.
