FOUKE, Ark. (AP) - Miller County authorities say a 9-year-old boy died after being trampled by a horse on a family farm near Fouke.

The Texarkana Gazette reported Saturday (https://bit.ly/1Tb6jxm ) that investigators say the boy was leading the horse when he became tangled in the rope. Investigator Patsy DeHart said the boy held onto the rope and was dragged away.

The child was found in a pasture with the horse and was flown to a Little Rock hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The boy’s name was not released and investigators say he was a foster child who was being adopted by the family.
