DULUTH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a 4-year-old boy has died after he was found unresponsive at an apartment complex swimming pool in suburban Atlanta.

Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a statement that the boy wandered out of his apartment and was found face down in the pool on Friday. The boy was pulled from the water and CPR was administered by a man described as the child’s uncle and a female bystander.

The boy was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center. He was pronounced dead later on Friday night.

Rutledge says the boy had been inside with his mother, uncle and several other children at the Landmark at the Bella Vista Apartments.

The name of the child has not been released.
