LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say an officer escaped serious injury after being struck by a vehicle.

Authorities were notified around 2:45 p.m. Friday that a motorcycle officer was injured.

Police responded to Durango and Starboard Drives.

They say it appears a truck hit the officer’s motorcycle, throwing the officer from the bike.

The officer was taken to UMC Trauma Center, where his injuries were found to not be life-threatening.

Police say he suffered a broken collar bone.

The driver of the vehicle told police that he did not see the officer when he pulled out onto the road.

The accident is under investigation.
