SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) - A cat is recovering after being found on the Spanish Fork River Trail with a blow dart in the head.

South Utah Valley Animal Shelter officials say a family discovered the feline last week while out walking.

The cat, dubbed “Miss Kiss” by shelter workers, was taken to an animal hospital in Springville.

Veterinarian Isaac Bott says he was able to remove the 4-inch blow dart but it caused brain damage and injury to her right eye.

Bott also found a fragment from another blow dart in one leg.

A foster family is caring for Miss Kiss but she will require more care.

The Humane Society of Utah is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.

The person could face an animal cruelty charge.
