IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Hundreds of people are looking for a place to live after the new owners of an Iowa City apartment complex announced new plans for the complex.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/1pCTQH3 ) that the owners of the Rose Oak Apartments plan to begin a major reconstruction project on the property next month.

Tenants were told via a personalized letter that the complex would not be renewing their leases. For those with leases lasting into the fall and winter, owners recommended they consider moving out early to avoid construction noise and parking issues.

At least half of the 400 condos on the property are currently occupied.

High rents and a tight housing market in Iowa City means some apartment residents may have to move out of the city.
