COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man who died after he was hit by a cement truck in downtown Columbia.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says Alexandre Zwolensky was hit by a truck at around 8 a.m. Thursday as he tried to cross an intersection.

Zwolensky was taken to the hospital, where officials say he died about an hour later.

Columbia police are still investigating. Authorities have not said if they plan to charge the driver.
