DELHI, N.Y. (AP) - Two State University of New York colleges are getting new presidents, including a former mayor of an upstate city who has been chosen to lead a Long Island school.

SUNY officials announced this week that Michael Laliberte (la-lih-ber-TAY’), vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment management at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, was named president of SUNY Delhi (DEHL’-hye) in Delaware County.

Laliberte has also worked in the administrations at colleges in Massachusetts and Idaho. He will become Delhi’s 10th president on July 21.

SUNY also announced that John Nader was appointed president of Farmingdale State College in Nassau County. Nader has been provost at SUNY Delhi since 2009. He was mayor of Oneonta from 2006 to 2010.

Nader will become Farmingdale’s ninth president on July 15.
