SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A San Francisco Fire Department rescue boat flipped over during an exercise and sent seven firefighters into the cold waters of the bay, but none were seriously injured.

Fire Department spokesman Jonathan Baxter told the San Francisco Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1RsZiDx ) the boat capsized at about 11:18 a.m. Saturday.

Five firefighters were rescued by other fire boats or Coast Guard vessels, and two were picked up by private boats. All seven were examined but appeared to escape serious injury.

The National Weather Service says winds were gusting up to 26 mph and waves were as high as 7 feet in the area where the boat flipped.
