SPANAWAY, Wash. (AP) - The owner of a Spanaway convenience store has shot and killed a shoplifting subject.

KING5-TV reports (https://kng5.tv/1UtDDkP ) that the store owner’s wife was shot during a robbery at the Pacific Quick Mart last month.

Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says that at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, two men were drinking in the store’s parking lot. They went inside and attempted to shoplift.

Troyer says the store owner pulled a gun, there was a confrontation and several rounds were fired, killing one man.

Troyer says the other suspect is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made.

Last month, a masked man demanded money from the clerk and shot her. Two people were arrested in that case.
