SYDNEY (AP) - Adelaide United moved into second place in the A-League, a point behind first-place Brisbane, with a 4-2 win over the last-place Central Coast Mariners on Sunday.

Roy O’Donovan opened the scoring for Central Coast in the 16th minute, prompting a furious response from Adelaide through Isaias in the 29th, Stefan Mauk (35) and Bruce Djite (38).

Pablo Sanchez added a fourth in the 81st. O’Donovan added a late consolation two minutes later.

With two rounds remaining in the regular season, Brisbane leads a congested race among the top five teams for the minor premiership. Brisbane has 44 points, Adelaide 43, Western Sydney 42, Melbourne City 41 and Perth 40.

City can move level on points and into first place with Brisbane with a home win Monday over the Wellington Phoenix to conclude the 25th round.
