FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) - A Cabinet secretary who’s often listed among potential Democratic running mates will headline the Butler County party’s spring fundraising dinner.

The southwest Ohio county’s Democratic Party says Julian (HOOL’-ee-un) Castro will speak at the April 9 event in the swing state. The 41-year-old secretary of Housing and Urban Development and former San Antonio mayor is considered a likely contender for the 2016 national ticket, particularly if it is headed by Hillary Clinton.

Dinner tickets start at $75 for the dinner in the north Cincinnati suburb of Fairfield. Butler County has been dominated by Republicans in recent years.
