ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - An inmate in the custody of the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office died after experiencing a medical emergency.

Authorities say the 54-year-old inmate, who was being housed in the medical unit of the William G. Truesdale Adult Detection Center, died Saturday at about 11:30 p.m. at the Inova Alexandria Hospital.
