ARUNDEL, Maine (AP) - Maine sugarhouses from Arundel to Eagle Lake will be open to the public in celebration of Maine Maple Sunday.

The sugarhouses will allow visitors to try freshly made maple syrup, take tours of the facilities and watch demonstrations about syrup production.

Mild weather allowed some of Maine’s maple producers to tap trees earlier than normal this year. Producers say there will still be plenty of maple available on Sunday.

Sugarhouses are expected to be open all over the state, from the New Hampshire border to the far northern reaches.

The event is held on the fourth Sunday of the month in March ever year.
