AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Police say a man has been arrested on a murder charge following his release from the hospital in east Georgia.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/22FlmWi ) that 33-year-old Kevin Leslie is accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Deshaun Johnson at a home in Hephzibah on March 15. Leslie is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault.

Leslie was arrested Thursday soon after at the Augusta University Medical Center emergency room where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest. He was listed in critical condition.

Leslie is being held at the Richmond County jail. It’s not immediately clear if he has an attorney.
