LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The name of a Sherwood firefighter who was killed while responding to a medical call has been added to the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial at the state Capitol.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1Rmuwj4 ) that Lt. Ronald Jason Adams’ name has been added to the memorial to Arkansas firefighters who have died in the line of duty since 1889.

The 29-year-old Adams was shot to death in January while responding to a medical call in North Little Rock. Adams was off-duty and volunteering with the East Pulaski County Fire Department when he was shot.

Officials with the firefighters memorial say 106 Arkansas firefighters have died in the line of duty since April 2, 1889, when the first death was recorded in Fort Smith.
