ROME, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man apparently drowned while fishing in a kayak at a northern Pennsylvania camping area over the weekend.

State police in Bradford County say Steven McWain of Warren Center, who was 58 or 59 years old, died Saturday afternoon at Haigh’s Pond.

Waterways conservation officer Jeremy Yohe said McWain was fishing out of his kayak in a rural area owned by the Eastern Bradford County Rod and Gun Club.

Corporal Joseph Mitchell of the state police told The (Towanda) Daily Review (https://bit.ly/1RuotWl ) that the kayak apparently flipped over, and the death is considered a drowning.

The county coroner’s office said an autopsy is planned.
