GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) - Police are investigating after a motorist struck and killed an 11-year-old boy in Gresham.

Gresham police say an officer on patrol near Southeast 162nd Avenue and East Burnside Street saw a vehicle collide with the boy Monday afternoon.

Police say the child was unresponsive and died at the scene.

Police say the driver is cooperating with the investigation into what caused the crash.

The names of the boy and driver have not been released.
