PHOENIX (AP) - A Marana man accused of taking authorities on a high-speed chase across the Phoenix metro area is facing seven charges.

Joshua Michael Monigold had his initial court appearance Monday and his bond was set at $50,000. He doesn’t have an attorney yet.

The 31-year-old Monigold was arrested last week on suspicion of theft of means of transportation, attempted robbery, unlawful flight, criminal damage, failure to stop, and reckless and aggravated driving.

Authorities say he has previous convictions including misconduct involving weapons, theft and drug violations.

Monigold was wanted in connection with a March 19 hit-and-run in Marana.

He was accused of trying to steal a motorcycle Thursday in Mesa. A chase through Chandler and Gilbert ended when the truck Monigold was driving rolled over on Interstate 10 near Sun Lakes.
