SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (AP) - San Francisco Bay-area authorities are investigating racist, gang-related graffiti found in a park.

KNTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1URlbT1 ) that San Leandro police on Sunday found graffiti of a known gang symbol and slurs directed at African Americans and Hispanics defacing park property at San Leandro Marina Park.

Officials worked to cover up the graffiti before families came to the park to celebrate Easter. Police say there will be an increase in patrols in the area.

Police officials say they do not believe the culprit is a white supremacist gang.
