HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A fire has destroyed a 16-unit apartment complex southwest of Hot Springs.

The Sentinel-Record (https://bit.ly/1qb0THn ) reports that firefighters responded to the fire around 11:45 a.m. Sunday.

Sheriff’s Lt. Joel Ware, who is also a resident and the courtesy officer for the apartment complex, says the fire began in an upper apartment on the west side of the building. The building’s roof collapsed as a result.

The cause of the fire was still unknown Sunday.

Paramedic Joe Miller says the only injury was a man who hurt his hand while helping to clear the building.

Savannah Ramey, the manager of the apartments in Lake Hamilton Township, says the 30 affected people were offered the chance to move into unoccupied units in the complex.
