WASHINGTON (AP) - Officials say a firefighter was injured after a fire broke out in a Northwest D.C. apartment building.

WRC-TV reports (bit.ly/1REWz9d) that a firefighter who responded to the incident Sunday evening was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officials say two other people in the building were also taken to the hospital. One person had serious injuries and one person had minor injuries.

The names of the firefighter and the others injured in the fire have not been released. Officials have not said what they believe caused the fire.
