MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man shot over the weekend after threatening Myrtle Beach police with a gun has died.

Deputy Horry County Coroner Michelle McSpadden tells local media outlets 55-year-old Donald Andrew White was pronounced dead of multiple gunshot wounds.

Lt. Joey Crosby says someone called police at 3:30 a.m. Saturday about a man acting strangely. Officers found White with a gun in his hand and called a police negotiator. Crosby says the man threatened police with the gun, and they shot him.

White was taken to a hospital, where he died. Officers Jeff Thomas, Brendan Hyde and Michael Hearon have been placed on administrative duty, as is standard in such cases.

The State Law Enforcement Division says the officers were wearing body cameras and that all the people involved are white.
