GIBSONIA, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man found slain in a Pittsburgh suburb was strangled, and his death has been ruled a homicide.

Officers in Hampton Township, just north of the city, were responding to a disturbance call Sunday night when they found the body of 49-year-old Glenn Fisher.

Police said Fisher is from Mount Lebanon, a suburb just south of the city, and it wasn’t immediately clear why he was at the residence, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 9 p.m.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office said Monday that Fisher died of “asphyxiation due to manual strangulation.”

County police are investigating. No arrests have been reported.
