BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are trying to determine what sparked a massive blaze that ripped through a Buffalo junkyard.

The fire broke out around 8:15 p.m. Sunday. Fire officials say the blaze burned a large amount of trash and recycling in the junkyard, including pallets, tractor-trailer parts, fiberglass and an array of plastics.

Officials say the fire encompassed an area about 100 feet by a quarter-mile.

The fire was burning next to a chemical warehouse and officials brought a hazardous materials team to the scene as a precaution.

The blaze continued to burn late Sunday.
