DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) - A conference on improving the access to food for senior citizens and children in southeast Michigan will be held in Dearborn.

Representatives from various nonprofits and other organizations have been invited to the Healthy Food Connect kickoff on Wednesday at the Ford Motor Company Conference & Event Center.

Participating groups will learn about grant-making opportunities and educational programs.

The initiative is sponsored by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and the Michigan Health Endowment Fund. It is designed to increase access to healthy food for senior citizens and children in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, Livingston and St. Clair counties.
