NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD is searching for an armed robber who has been targeting elderly residents in Brooklyn and Queens.

Police say in the most recent incident, the suspect hit an 83-year-old woman in the face Saturday at her Brooklyn home but didn’t steal anything.

Investigators believe the same man robbed an 81-year-old woman at gunpoint in Brooklyn on March 19 and got away with $330.

Earlier in the month, police say the man had placed a 91-year-old woman in a choke hold when he encountered a 50-year-old man. He robbed both of them, fleeing with $370.

The same man is suspected of robbing a 76-year-old woman and an 87-year-old man at knifepoint in January.
