ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a woman found dead in her apartment at an Elizabeth housing complex was strangled.

Union County prosecutors say 26-year-old Trenice Johnson’s body was found around 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mravlag Manor complex. But it’s not clear when she was killed.

Johnson’s death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy that was performed Monday. But a possible motive for the attack remains under investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Further details about the slaying and the investigation have not been released.
