GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - The owner of an oil company is being treated for burns over 55 percent of his body after a fire at an oil treater plant.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://bit.ly/1ogw6r5 ) that M&K; Oil owner Jim McLeland is being treated at a Colorado hospital for injuries sustained after an oil well about 34 miles south of Gillette exploded on Thursday.

McLeland was airlifted to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, where he was stabilized then transported to the Western States Burn Center at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.

Son Nathan McLeland said Saturday that his father was still in “pretty critical condition” and that it is unclear how severe the burns are.
