GAYLORD, Mich. (AP) - The Otsego Lake State Park boating access site in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula is getting an overhaul.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says the site is expected to be closed starting in mid-April for construction, with most of the work wrapping up by May 26.

Improvements include traffic lane maneuvering changes, parking lot upgrades, a new boat and trailer tie-down lane and upgraded storm water management systems.

The adjacent day-use area at Otsego Lake State Park also will be closed during construction, but the state park campground will remain open. An alternate boating access site is located at the Otsego Lake County Park on the northwest side of the lake.
