DUXBURY, Mass. (AP) - Police say a woman is dead after a car crash in Duxbury over the weekend.

Police Sgt. Dennis Symonds says the woman crashed her car into a tree on High Street shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday.

Fire officials say the victim was trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to remove her from the car.

The woman was taken to a Plymouth hospital where she later died. Her identity is being withheld until her family is notified.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
