MILWAUKEE (AP) - Crews from We Energies have been restoring power to thousands of customers in the Milwaukee area after an overnight outage.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the outage affected Milwaukee’s south side and St. Francis.

WISN-TV says the outage was reported at about 3 a.m. Monday. At one point, about 9,000 customers were without power.

We Energies sent out a tweet at about 6:45 a.m. saying power had been restored to all but 170 customers.
