HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a 3.1-magnitude earthquake near Huntington Beach, California, southwest of Los Angeles.

The USGS says the quake was centered in the San Pedro Channel, about 3 miles west of Huntington Beach, with a depth of about 8 miles. It struck at about 3:40 a.m. Huntington Beach is about 35 miles southwest of Los Angeles.

Police in Huntington Beach reported getting two calls from people who felt the earthquake. No damage or injuries have been reported.
