KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (AP) - Residents of a handful of southern Maine communities will soon vote in a special state senate election.

The District 32 seat in the senate will be filled in the Tuesday special election.

The candidates are Susan Deschambault, a Biddeford Democrat, and Stephen Martin, a Biddeford Republican. Green candidate Alan Brown withdrew on Feb. 25.

The district includes Alfred, Arundel, Biddeford, Dayton, Kennebunkport and Lyman.

Former Sen. David Dutremble, a Democrat from Biddeford, resigned the District 32 seat earlier this year after announcing he was struggling with alcohol addiction and seeking recovery.
