TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory across New Jersey as rain falls into the southern part of the state.

The advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. Monday until midnight and could see wind gusts out of the west of up to 50 mph.

The weather service warns that strong wind could cause power failures and downed tree limbs and says tall and light vehicles should use extra caution.

Rain showers blanketed much of the southern parts of the state on Monday, with heavier showers in central New Jersey.
