HOPE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - State police say three people were injured when a car crashed on an interstate highway in northwestern New Jersey.

The crash on Interstate 80 in Hope Township was reported around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say six people were in the vehicle. Three of them were flown to a hospital, but further details on their injuries were not disclosed.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Some lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while the accident was investigated. But no major travel problems were reported.
