CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (AP) - Airport security officers have confiscated a loaded handgun from a passenger flying out of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

The Transportation Security Administration says it’s the third gun agents have found at the airport this month.

The 9 mm gun loaded with six bullets was seen during an X-ray of a passenger’s laptop case on Monday. Authorities didn’t release the man’s name and say he was cited on local weapons charges.

The TSA says there was no impact to airport operations.

The agency says guns aren’t allowed in carry-on bags but can be transported in checked bags as long as they’re unloaded and declared to the airline.
